Dasavatharam - The 10 Avatars

Its 5 days now, since dasavatharam's release, there has been many reviews floating in the net and Tv channels about the Haasan Sir and his characters. There is a mix of comments saying that movie is good, bad, average..etc.,

But I strongly feel that we are not the right person to comment about the movie. Kamal Haasan sir has gone far ahead that we all could not think or dream about.

Its very easy to say that this character is not good, screenplay has some flaws but if you imagine the amount of work, planning, research which has gone into the movie is amazing.

One could hardly believe that Nambi, Flecher, Balram Naidu, Narahashi are all performed by just one person. Starting the camera from Marina Beach to Chennai Nehru Stadium, then way back to 12th Century and to present biological lab in California is scripted well and co-related.

We know that everything in world happens as a side effect of one thing, Chaos Theory. So linking the story with this theory and portarying all different characters with a screenplay is a tough & challenging job.

For those of you, who could not link the movie with the 10 avatars, here's below is the character descriptions of each avatar

1. Mathsya avatar - Ranagaraja nambi, this is his first incarnation, Kamal has shown a fish when we drove in the water, its a symbolic representation of Mathsya avatar which is a fish avatar

2. Koorma avatar - Bush (Koorma avatar is a turtle, which is quite dumb, so you can understand :-), actually this character controls the world's action in its every move.)

3. Krishna avatar - Vincent Poovaraghavan (Who saves ashin when she was being violated, just like when Krishna saved Draupati)

4. Balarama avatar - Balarama naidu (Quite powerful and brillant character like balaraman)

5. Vamana avatar - Krishnaveni paatti (During the mukunda song, krishnaveni paatti does varaha avatar in the shadow puppetry, this avatar is actually a dwarf, hence Krishnaveni is shown very short)

6. Varaha avatar - Kalifulla khan (Its a giant's form - Vishvaroopa)

7. Parasurama avatar - Chris Fletcher (An angry killing spree)

8. Narasimha avatar - Shingen Narahashi (You can see the similarity in the name, Lord Narasimha kills asura with bare hands - nails, here this character trys to kill Chris with Martial arts - bare hands again)

9. Rama avatar - Avatar Singh (Rama lived for one women sita, similarly this character loved his wife Jayaprada more than anything else)

10. Kalki avatar - Govindaraj Ramasamy (Present world avatar), this character is actually linked with the first avatar Rangaraja Nambi. Nambi gets seperated from Asin and died with statue, Govind joins Asin together near that statue at the end.

The message is, both its Vizgnanam (satellite) or Meiynanam (God almighty), has not saved 1000's of my people in Tamilnadu when Tsunami has hitted it in 26th Dec 2004, still that sunday morning is afresh in our thoughts.

I don't want to be an another reviewer!!! but I feel happy that I live in the same decades as Kamal lives and able to watch the movie on the first day of its realease here in Fremont, Cinedome Theatre
